dhaka

Ay gurl!

Things are going very well. I spent all yesterday morning at the ICDDR talking to anthropologists and researchers (fascinating). Then I went to the American club with Ryan, his sister and two of her friends. I ran yesterday with Ryan and his former track coach. It was horribly humid, though mercifully overcast. Last night, I spent a long time talking to his dad last night; he is truly inspiring and while the conversation has left me a little out of sorts, we discussed the kinds of tough questions that I have been pondering for quite a while.

The power goes out fairly frequently as their is an energy shortage here. The conversation just keeps going (the only beat we miss is when Ms. Luby points this out every time is occurs and I bust out laughing at the repetition).

So far I have had no stomach troubles; the Lubys are adamant that I do not drink anything from the tap. Even teeth and toothbrushes must be cleaned with bottled water.

Obviously, lots more to say, but it's almost time for Depasheesh (sp) to drive me to the other ICDDR campus for more interviews.

Ryan leaves tomorrow early morning so one last day with the coolest guy everrrrrr.

So much love,

Katie B
